State and National Scholarships
- Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Award. The 2025 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.

- The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2019 competition.
- Male and female students compete separately.
- Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award, conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. Application due November 15, 2018. - Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
- Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
- High school graduates are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.

California Veterans Fee Waiver | Veteran Services
The College Fee Waiver for Veteran Dependents benefit waives mandatory system-wide tuition and fees at any State of California Community College, California State University, or University of California campus. This program does not cover the expense of books, parking or room and board. There are four plans under which dependents of Veterans may be eligible.
To apply download the DVS-40 application, then go to your local CalVet Veteran Services CVSO Locations. For more information, you can also contact the admissions office or the Veterans Affairs office of any California college system campus.

Each year, we give away a modest pile of money through the Work Ethic Scholarship Program to help people get trained for skilled jobs that are in demand. We’ve proven that opportunities in the trades aren’t alternatives to viable careers – they are viable careers. Through this program, we encourage people to learn a useful skill, and we reward those who demonstrate that they’ll work their butts off. When it comes to hard work, there is no alternative. Since our inception, we’ve granted $11 million in work ethic scholarships.
To To apply for a scholarship, YOU’LL HAVE TO:
- Enroll in an approved program.
- Sign the S.W.E.A.T. Pledge.
- Answer 4 questions about the S.W.E.A.T. Pledge.
- Make a video.
- Have 2 solid references from a teacher or boss.
- Verify your school costs.
- Provide high school or college transcript.
- Send your most recent 1040 tax form.
- Submit your application no later than April 17, 2025 at 11:59 PM PT.
