English Language Arts
The Loyalton High School English Language Arts Department is committed to helping students become confident readers, thoughtful writers, effective communicators, and critical thinkers. Through a variety of literature, writing, research, and discussion opportunities, students develop the skills they need to communicate clearly and successfully in high school, college, careers, and everyday life.
Our ELA courses provide students with opportunities to read a wide range of texts, strengthen their writing skills, participate in meaningful discussions, and develop their own voice as writers and communicators. We encourage students to think critically, ask questions, support their ideas with evidence, and appreciate different perspectives.
From foundational English courses through advanced and college-preparatory coursework, our goal is to help every Grizzly grow as a reader, writer, and communicator. Courses are designed to support students in meeting UC/CSU A-G English requirements and preparing for college and career opportunities.
