About Us

Loyalton High School is a small rural high school located in the heart of the Sierra Valley, just north of Truckee/Tahoe. Sierra Valley is considered the "jewel" of the Sierras for its expansive beauty and diverse landscapes. Loyalton High School serves the communities of Loyalton, Sierraville, Calpine, Vinton, Chilcoot, and the many ranching communities scattered throughout the valley. 

 

We are proud of our public schools and what our students accomplish while attending Loyalton High School. We have college-preparatory offerings, as well as three distinct CTE pathways in Agriscience, Construction Trades, and Mechatronics. We have an award-winning agriculture department that supports a very successful Future Farmers of America (FFA) program. Our students are extremely involved in LHS and participate in its many sports, extra-curricular activities and clubs.
